OASIS Scholarship 2025
Many students of unprivileged communities in West Bengal want to pursue their education but they face financial issues. The eligible students are unaware of getting a scholarship from the government. The Oasis Scholarship, launched by the state government to provide financial support to SC/ST and OBC students from Grade 9 to postgraduate levels. This Scholarship is designed to help deserving students to continue their education without any financial crises.

About Oasis Scholarship
Oasis Scholarship full form is Online Application for Scholarship in Studies. It is the financial support program offered by the Backward Classes Welfare Department and Tribal Development Department of the West Bengal, Government of India. The main purpose is to support the SC/ST and OBC group students to fulfill their education dream. Pre metric and Post matric students can avail this Scholarship to continue their educational expenses among unprivileged communities.
Status Check
In Session 2024-25, nearly 4 lakh applications were submitted and approval rate was not confirmed but approximately 65% applicants get approval due to meet with eligibility criteria. How to Register on Oasis Portal
Visit Oasis Portal
Firstly, Open the chrome and enter the URL: –http://www.oasis.gov.in
Navigate with “Registration Tab”
For new registration, Click on the “Student Registration” menu on the top bar of Portal.
Fill Registration Form
Registration form will open where basic information is required such as your name, Father name, Caste, Date of Birth, Gender, etc. Fill up all the information correctly and click on the “Submit” button.
Download Acknowledgement Slip
After submission of the Registration form, you will get your permanent User ID/ application number and password by pressing the “Download login information/ Acknowledgement slip”.
How to Apply For Oasis Scholarship
Click on “Login Tab”
Now you can easily enter into Oasis Portal by clicking on “Registered Student’s login” or “Login Now” option by using information provided by Acknowledgement Slip to Fill all further details.
Fill Login Form
The Login form will open, Enter your User ID, password, CAPTCHA code, and click on “Login” button.
Press Step 1: Further Details
Follow the steps given the Left bar menu of Student Dashboard on Portal.
Click on Step 1 – Further Details, and fill up all information data accurately and press the “save” button.
Press Step 2: Bank Information
Click on Step 2 – Bank Information, Enter your Bank name, branch, account number, IFSC & MICR code and press the “Save and proceed” button.
Press Step 3: Verify & Lock
Click on Step 3 – Verify & Lock, remember before lock this information, you can not do any changes. So be careful to read your information data and then lock it.
Press Step 4: Print Application
Move on Step 4 – Print Application, Click on the “Download application form” and print it into hard copy. Attach all required documents with a printed application form and submit it to the concerned Block Development office.
Documents Required
- 10th and 12th Mark Sheets (Photocopy).
- Admission Letter from the institute (Photocopy).
- Institute ID Card (Photocopy).
- Caste Certificate (Photocopy, if applicable).
- Income Certificate of parents (Photocopy, must be recent).
- Residential Certificate (Photocopy).
- Hostel Certificate issued by the warden (Photocopy, if applicable).
- Institute Verification Certificate confirming admission and attendance (Photocopy).
- Official Fee Structure issued by the institute (Certified Copy).
- Completed Scholarship Application Form (Original).
- Bank Passbook (Photocopy of the first page showing account details).
- Aadhaar Card (Photocopy).
- Birth Certificate.
Application Process For Renewal Applicants
Navigate with “Renew Scholarship Tab”
Visit the Oasis Portal. Click on “Renew Scholarship”.
Select District
Select your District. Remember, don’t change the previous year district during renewal.
Fill Renewal Login Form
Login Form will appear, Use previous year User ID & password. Put the CAPTCHA code and press the “Login” button.
Press Step 1: Details
The page will open with 3 steps on the Left side menu bars.
Click on Step 1 – Details: Check and verify the details that you have entered last year.
Press Step 2: Renew Application
Click on Step 2 – Renew Application: Enter some new information in last year’s details. Proof read the information you entered and Press the “Renew & Lock” button.
Press Step 3: Print Application
Move on next Step 3 – Print Application: Download the filled-in application, print it into hard copy and attach all necessary documents. Then submit it to the concerned Block office.
Final Words
To cut a long story short, the Oasis Scholarship program is to encourage the unprivileged communities to pursue their education without any financial burden. It offers opportunity to all levels of education such as Schools, Colleges, and Universities students. The good news for freshers is that the West Bengal government is expanding the seats to enroll more eligible students in this scheme.
